Story & Universe

Once upon a time, there was “A Night of Wax and Gold,” Diptyque’s holiday tale. This year, the Maison celebrates Christmas through storytelling, inviting you into a magical Saint-Germain-des-Prés universe.

The creation is crafted by a trio of artists: Victor Pouchet for the poetic story, Vincent Puente for surreal illustrations, and Inès Mélia for decorative objects transformed into poetic creations.

The story begins in a bookstore where the bookseller and his mischievous cat Archibald discover the magical power of a pine cone that falls into the shimmering wax of a scented candle. Winter icons are adorned with golden motifs and surreal illustrations, and the pages of the story are transformed into gift boxes and wrapping papers, prolonging the holiday magic.

Usage Instructions

Preparing the space

• Place on a flat, heat-resistant surface
• Protect delicate surfaces (wood, marble)
• Keep away from flammable materials, children, and pets

Lighting the candle

• Light with a match for safety
• First use: allow entire surface of wax to melt (approx. 2 hours)

During burning

• Do not burn more than 2 hours consecutively after first use
• Never leave a candle unattended
• Avoid moving or placing in drafts
• Keep at least 10 cm between candles

After use

• Extinguish with a snuffer
• Re-center the wick
• Trim wick to 3–5 mm before each lighting

End of use

• Stop using when 5 mm of wax remains

Care & Storage

• Air the room after burning
• Let wax cool completely before moving
• Store in a dry, temperate place, away from direct sunlight
